I popped into the Brighton Baby Expo this weekend, as it was only round the corner, and uncovered a few little goodies. As well as BG faves such as Happy Hopperz, Pili Pala and The Little Legs Company, I found some lovely companies to share with you. The one that most impressed is Organic Monkey, a small but perfectly formed range of fabulous fair-trade and organic baby skincare solutions, produced by Brighton mums Heidi and Claudine. I nabbed a sample of their Bumfluff (great name) Nappy Balm, £10.50, and I’m already placing an order for more – it’s a luscious lavender-scented (although you can get an unscented version) concoction that puts me in mind of Neal Yard’s Baby Balm. Also in the range is Hello Mellow Massage Oil, £12, and three oils, £7.50 each, designed to target specific problems – Belly Better for sore tummies, Cheeky Monkey for teething and Rock the Cradle for cradle cap. I’ll report back on these once I’ve had a chance to try them. What with Soil Association and Fairtrade Foundation certification, donations to children’s charity Sparks and Monkey World ape rescue centre (!), recycled packaging and a super-cute simian logo, it’s hard to find fault!
