Stella McCartney for Gap Kids

stella mccartney gap kidsIt doesn’t seem that long ago when I wrote excitedly about the Stella McCartney for Gap casting call and finally we get to see a little preview of the collection.

Bringing high fashion to Gap Kids (and taking the price point up a few notches whilst she’s at it), it’s a 70 piece collection that’s notching up some key trends on its belts – they say Balmain spring 09 inspired, I say a bit MJ- bit Beatles inspired on the military jacket front. Sweater dresses also make an appearance (seriously hot trend) as well as the fabulous anoraks.

In true Stella McCartney fashion, luxury, ethical materials have been used, so its merino, organic cotton, cashmere, and wool as well as the leather free chunky boots and trainers.

As ever, there’s plenty of practical basics, from hoodies, to PJs, tees, and more and I can hardly wait for them to arrive in store.

The military jackets will be £75, the yellow pacamac is £40, and the cable knit leopard print dress (a mini-me from her own main collection) is £80. I’m feeling the dusky pink tutu too.

In stores from November 2nd, I suspect that it will sell out fast even in these crunchier times, as the pieces are considerably cheaper than a lot of designer childrenswear. I…cough…will be getting some for myself as the collection runs from birth to 12.
