You can’t beat Ikea for cheap, cheerful, fairly robust, multifunctional, and potentially customisable buys. Their Sniglar bedside table is made from solid beech for the main part and wipeable fibreboard for the top and could easily move its way around the house, even as a little side table.
If I owned it, I’d be tempted to jazz it up with an instant dose of colour – try Plasti Kote spray paint which you can get in your usual big DIY stores. In the meantime, the Sniglar bedside table is a very cheeky £6.99 – bargain-o-rama!

I actually have this as my bedside table. It fit very neatly into the space left after putting a very large bed in a small room, and doesn’t look too bad with my anes bedframe.
