Sniglar Changing Table

sniglar changing table whiteI am actually quite excited about being able to buy more Ikea products online (I’ve been wanting to go there for about 6 weeks but haven’t been able to face the thought of chasing my ‘tail’ going around in circles in a crowd), but I am quite disappointed that ‘full’ doesn’t actually mean full if you’re in the children’s department, with most things unavailable to add to your shopping basket. Boo!

On a good note though, the Sniglar Changing Table which we own is available to buy online for £16.99. When I was originally looking to buy a changing table, I did look at lots of far more expensive ones and just couldn’t bring myself to spend a huge wad on one when I could do that on something else!

The Sniglar Changing Table is basic but we put a couple of baskets for storage on the shelf, plus one of those storage things that you normally hang off the door, which we fixed to one side, and bingo, we had a changing table. We also store some stuff under the shelf like unopened packs of nappies and her travel cot which ‘just’ about remains hidden from view underneath there.

It’s easier if you buy the changing mat from Ikea however, because the bambino seems to be really tall, it’s actually worked in our favour that we had a slightly bigger one from Mothercare which stops her feet from hitting the edge of the table.

Bad Points – Not great for long babies as the bambino has been the length of the changing table for a few months. I think it needs an extra shelf and they should make it where they don’t need one of the end pieces in the side so that parents don’t have to fret about their baby’s feet hitting the end piece.

Good points – It is basic and lasts till 12 months and afterwards you can use it as a table or storage unit. At £16.99, even if you change your mind after a while and decide you want a different changing table, it’s a very cost effective changing table solution.

If you’re feeling a bit Blue Peter, you could probably jazz it up a bit with a spot of paint, should this take your fancy.

My verdict – 3.5 out of 5. Basic but very good value for what it is.
