Mothercare Sleep Wedge Cushion
Sleeping comfortably and through the night becomes something foreign long before the baby arrives…. Your centre of balance gets thrown off with the ever burgeoning bump and it’s not helped by the way you sleep with no support for the bump.
I purchased my Mothercare sleep wedge cushion at around 28 weeks and it has for the most part made sleep far easier.
It’s a very no frills product and is literally a firm foam wedge with a removable and washable cushion cover, which can be used from 16 weeks.
I’ve felt more balanced in the bed but my bump has a tendency to be a little hyper sometimes and can become unsettled when I lie on the wedge. She’ll kick until I give in and take it off. But I gave it a break for a couple of weeks and attempted to lie on pillows which was a bit of a ‘mare and I’ve gone back to the wedge and my bump behaves herself more with it. The trick is to make sure that you don’t put the wedge too far under the bump or too high up. Once it’s in the right position, it’s fine and you tend to find that you shift back on to it without waking up.
