Little Childs Contemporary Toy Boxes
The quest for a toy box that meets your style criteria can be a long journey.
I quite like these colourful contemporary toy boxes by Little Childs that are a great addition to a modern toddler bedroom.
Made to order in the UK from ethically sourced Finnish plywood and coloured with child friendly paint from the Little Greene Paint Company, they’re available in six colours – red, pale blue, pale pink, mid blue, soft white, and green.
Instead of your usual lift the lid from the front, they’re like cupboards on top and open out on each side. They’re constructed without metal fixings and it’s all soft, rounded edges.
Prices range between £108 and £148 depending on size plus, you can if you like, get it personalised for an extra £10, and for another tenner, you can add wheels.

Oooh lovely toy boxes. I agree, it’s so hard to find something big enough to do the job and that’s nice enough for you to want to have in your living room. We ended up buying a giant pirate’s chest from ebay which had been made 50 years ago by someone’s grandad as I was getting so disenheartened with what was out there.
It’s full to the brim now and it’s not even Christmas yet. Someone needs to invent a stylish toybox-cum-tardis. I would pay lots for that!
Thanks for your comment. A 50 year old chest sounds very cool! Seriously, if it’s bad now, wait till Christmas day arrives…. I have been in search of the perfect toy box for ages and each time I find something great, I start wondering if there is even more greatness out there!
In the meantime, I’ll get cracking on inventing a tardis
