Left Hand Make - Small One Children’s Furniture table and chair

Natalie writes…

Left Hand Make is the baby of Chris Byrne, born in Scotland but living out in Australia. He is the designer of the Small One range of contemporary furniture for children that reflects abstract animal shapes and has beautiful organic curves. They’re made from high quality birch plywood and are even sturdy enough for an adult that wants to get down with the young ‘uns to sit at.

I think this furniture is stunning and whilst it is certainly contemporary and modern, it has a whimsical vibe that has hints of Enid Blyton’s The Faraway Tree and whilst I would clearly have this indoors, I’d love it to be photographed under a really leafy, overhanging tree, with a tea set and some quirky animals sitting at the table to create a magical atmosphere.

The table and two chairs set is AU$450 which on today’s exchange rate is about £210, making this an upmarket table and chair set. It will take about 4-6 weeks for delivery which will cost AU$140 (£65). I have never seen anything like this in the UK so it could certainly be worth spending the money if you have the budget.
