Junzo Terada’s Magical Menagerie

April 29, 2010 by · 2 Comments

I spied these little beauties while browsing around the treasure trove that is Castor & Pollux on Brighton seafront and couldn’t resist their charms. The brainchild of Japanese illustrator Junzo Terada, Magical Menagerie is a box full of flatpacked card animals that form 3D sculptures without the help of glue or anything even vaguely messy – they simply slot together. The 20 animals come with envelopes so can be posted as alternative greetings, or are equally at home decorating a nursery shelf or even popped into a party bag. The mix of colours and patterns is sublime and although the RRP is £16.99, I’ve found them on The Book Depository for a mere £10.54 – bargain!
