Folksy

We have a lot of readers who are Etsy addicts but there’s a new spot to feed your addiction to crafted uniqueness and it’s British too! – Folksy.

If you have a penchant for craft and design you can set up your own shop space with people selling everything from furniture, to homewares, to paper goods, art, and clothing using techniques from graphic designers, painters, knitters, glassmakers, sewing fiends and more, plus you can take part in design competitions.
As a buyer, you have another virtual hotspot where you can snap up plenty of homegrown individuality. Hot finds so far are the lambswool creations of Sara Carr (her Sydney Hedgehog is pictured right), charming illustrations and paper goods from Hidden Eloise at Hide n Seek, organic flock printed children’s clothing and mini tote bags from littlechook, prints, cards, and wooden books (pictured top) from Mrs Eliot, and deliciously funky clothing for kids (including superhot reversible jackets) from Kitschy Coo.

Hiya, Just wanted to add that if you can’t find what you’re looking for at Folksy, DaWanda also has beautiful things which are handmade. I got a fantastic pair of woollen baby booties from Australia. I know air miles are frowned upon these days but I couldnt resist spending 10 euros on these : http://en.dawanda.com/shop/springtime. My boy looked fab in them. Cheers Ruth
