Elkedag means ‘every day’ in Dutch but it’s also the name of the name of the company behind this mealtime decoration eyecandy and there’s nothing ‘every day’ about these snack boards!

Designed by Simone Hongrebe, a German student at the University of Münster, these retro styled placemats were created for her thesis and feature wonderful, quirky images, with my favourite being the ‘Best Friend’ board with the teddy that reminds me of my own ‘youth’ hanging with a doll – they look like they’re posing in a passport photo booth! Too cool for school…literally. £8.62 each and available in 5 cool designs from Smallable.
