I became an instant fan of Danish childrenswear brand Ubang when we checked them out a Bubble London in early July with their fab playful clothing which takes its inspiration from nature and technology. Founded by Ulla Bang Jo, she creates clothing that stimulates the imagination and creates play, so on for instance, her long sleeved elephant t-shirt, the sleeve is the trunk.

And now I discover that they do a delightful playmat!

It’s made from 100% quilted cotton poplin in a scrumptious turquoise on the main side and a contrasting print in dark red and navy blue on the reverse. There’s a quirky toy on an elastic band in the middle for amusing your little one, and like all Ubang gear, it meets the very strict Oeko-tex standards meaning you can rest assured that the textiles used have been checked for harmful substances under EU regulations.

£45 from Little Baby Company.
