Dressing Up Chest

About this time of year you can’t turn around for spooky decorations and Halloween outfits based on TV shows. I was recently introduced to a brand which is the complete opposite of the nylon costumes hanging in the supermarket aisles: Dressing Up Chest.

Dressing Up Chest was started as an alternative to the mass produced costumes. It takes inspiration from fairy tales and fantasy to create traditional outfits for dressing up. From fairies to pirates, chefs to clowns there is a great range to choose from. There are accessories including felt crowns and seasonal outfits for Halloween and Christmas alongside the main line.

Each costume is handmade from washable fabrics with beautiful detailing. We borrowed a couple of costumes for Milla and Monty to model for you. The children loved wearing the costumes especially the generous capes which they spent a lot of time swishing as they jumped about. They fit well and the quality was stunning – they are the kind of clothes that could see ten years of play and still a dressing up box favourite.

I love the thought which has gone into making this range, it’s the kind of clothes I remember dressing up in as a child and that I can imagine holding onto for my own grandchildren some day.
