I have wanted to tell you about Bread and Jam since last Summer when I came across their collection. Before I could type it up the dresses had gathered a cult following and all but sold out.

Bread and Jam is the brainchild of University chums Lisa and Sofia who wanted gorgeous clothes for their daughters in retro fabrics. Their business ethos is to: Make things we want for ourselves and our children, and share the surplus with everyone else. Focusing one one style of dress they create it in a range of funky fabrics from the likes of Alexander Henry, Anna Maria Horner, Paula Prass, Heather Ross and Echino amongst others. All production is in Wales and having checked out some samples I can say that the quality is exceptional. We will be bringing you news of their Spring/Summer 2010 collection as soon as it hits the shop next month, I have had a sneaky peek and can exclusively reveal you are in for a treat!

If you can’t wait until the new collection is released then here is a taster just for you. Bread and Jam have launched their Valentine Dress today. Made from gorgeous raspberry coloured Echino Bird to Hang fabric (fabric fans will know this was much lusted after last year) with a full lining of white and turquise flowers. The pocket front has an appliqued heart and is designed to hold a love letter from one parent to another delivered by their little girl. It is available in sizes 2- 3 to 7 – 8 years. If you want it you’ll have to click quickly as designs often sell out in days.
