We’re huge fans of French toy maker Djeco’s delights which are always beautifully designed and crafted managing a wonderful balance of traditional inspiration with a contemporary injection. Hotspot for cool stuff, online boutique Peanut & Pip, has got some great new pieces from the range including the charming Chabada wooden pull along with its whimsy, old school feel and cute red ribbon, £11.95 and the wooden Geo Elephant shape sorter with its picture covered chunky shapes, £21.99. Both are suitable from 18 months and built to last – we have several of their toys and despite being well used, they look fabulous and stand the test of time.
They’ve also got a selection of puzzles and games such as Hi! Han! which is pin the tail on the donkey with a donkey poster, blindfold, and 16 tails. Suitable for 2-8 players, they recommend it for four year olds and naturally as many of us remember from our own childhoods, it’s a great game for parties – £7.99.
