Useful site: mynamelabel.co.uk

Having just entered the world of nursery I knew I was going to have to label everything, but didn’t fancy spending my evenings sewing, so I scoured the web for super-simple iron-on versions. It was then I chanced upon mynamelabel.co.uk which produces personalised labels for, well, pretty much everything – iron-on for clothing, different-sized stickers for lunchboxes, books, shoes and even tags for bags – plus you can choose font, colour and even add a motif.

I designed a pack of stickers, a pack of clothing labels and a bag tag, paid and waited. The results (which arrived speedily) were even better than expected – 10 seconds per item with an iron and a piece of baking parchment ensured beautifully labelled clothes, and they’ve withstood a few washes already. The stickers, complete with cool skull and crossbones icon, aren’t an eyesore and are in no danger of peeling off.

It takes just a few minutes to create your designs and you could do it together with older children and make the whole experience a game rather than a chore. £10 for 50 clothing labels or £14 for 75, or £10 for 40 stickers (£14 for 80). Bag tags are £3 each (£12 for six), plus there are all sorts of value packs. A far cry from fiddly sew-on fabric labels with unreadable script.

These are the only name labels/stickers that I’ve used. They are quick and easy to apply, stay on through countless washings and I love the shoe labels. I do need to think about ordering some more – do they ship to europe!
