‘Urban Babies Wear Black’ Board Book

Elli writes… I recently received Urban Babies Wear Black as a gift and it made me feel cool again. Yes, it’s a board book. No, board books are not cool. But trust me, this one pulls it off.
For a start, the idea is great: urban babies enjoy art galleries, drink latte (!) and love shopping.
The funny illustrations stop it from being pretentious, with cute babies – in black onesies, of course – pictured roaming free in the city and living it up like Carrie Bradshaw. For me the book has provided welcome moments of grown-up humour on days when Old MacDonald’s farm isn’t hitting the spot.
‘Urban Babies Wear Black’ would make a lovely baby shower gift for mums-to-be and, at less than a fiver (£4.74 from Amazon), it also works as a ‘you’re still you’ pick-me-up for hip mums.
