It’s definitely a problem when your baby wants to feed themselves with a spoon but it ends up anywhere but their mouthes and you both end up frustrated. Me-Feed-Me, a bowl and cutlery set by Salmon Luke is another attempt to resolve this issue.

The cutlery and the bowl are designed to make the whole baby feeding themself thing easier by being shaped in a way to tip food back just before it’s about to fall. The bowl has a wave shaped rim that flips food back onto the cutlery plus 3 cutlery sized corners to guide the food onto the spoon.

The spoon is high backed to deter food from sliding off and the tail of the cutlery stops them from rolling off the table. Interestingly, the Me-Feed-Me products are made from Hygienik, a material with a unique formula that stops the growth of illness forming bacteria. They’re the only products that use this material and the bacteria fighting performance is unaffected by repeated washing, scrubbing, or even scratching, which is probably music to the ears of any parent who has been scared by recent scaremongering stories about plastic.

I’m definitely curious about this product and would like to try one out. At £16…it’s quite pricey for child cutlery but if the selling points live up to the promise, it could be worth the investment! They’re available from Smarter Products.
