Toca Band iPad iPhone app

Oh, how we look forward to a new Toca Boca app. The latest, Toca Band, is, as you would expect, entertaining for children and their grown-ups, with a simple but effective format offering the chance to create and mix your own music using quirky characters. There are 16 in total, including Zuzz the accordion, Tic Toc alarm clock on percussion, Bang Bang chef on drums, Balooney the cat on, er, balloons, and various other singers and not-quite-sure-what-they-are creatures. You drag and drop them onto the stage one at a time to build up your tune or see them perform individually. Alfie really enjoys mixing the beats and my only bugbear is rapper Stikk Figga, who has faint traces of the crazy frogs about him, but even he can’t detract from the app’s charm. £1.49, The App Store.
