Thrupenny Bits Portable Breastfeeding Cushions

Breastfeeding in public can be tricky on so many levels not least because of trying to comfortably position your baby. Melissa Wyatt says she was an ungainly breast-feeder and found herself needing to carry pillows with her when she left the house. She wanted a portable cushion which didn’t scream “This is for breastfeeding!” but could find nothing to fit the bill.
Melissa decided to tackle the problem herself and Thrupenny Bits was born. She has designed a tie-on feeding cushion which you can pop in your pram when you head out for lunch. Made from stylish washable fabric and stuffed with either polystyrene beads or hypo-allergenic buckwheat hulls, these cushions look more like handbags. They are fully lined with a pocket so once you’re done using it for feeding you can take out the stuffing and voila - funky toddler bag.

There are some yummy designs in the shop and there are new fabrics coming soon. There are hopes for an Organic range in the future so watch this space.
I really love these cushions and will definitely have one next time around.
Priced £45 - £60 from Thrupenny Bits.
