I’m always curious when a new baby carrier comes on to the market and the Scootababy Carrier is the latest import from the US to make a wave over here.

So what does this carrier do?

It’s a hands-free carrier with a lightly padded, shaped seat suitable for babies from 5 months through to 3 years (around 40lbs). It distributes weight evenly across your waist and shoulder relieving pressure on the hot zones of discomfort. The shoulder is fleecy for extra support and the wide belt has a sliding panel which you can move to where you need extra support. It’s a one size carrier that fits most adults, it can be adjusted with one hand, and aside from the shoulder is made from 100% cotton and microfibre.

We’ll be getting one of these to try out soon which will be a different experience as we’ve had several mei-tai styled carriers and not many for the hip.

In the meantime, if you’d like to buy one or find out more information, check them out over at Slumber Roo where they are £69.99 and available in 5 different styles.

My first guess is that people who are nervous of totally soft carriers or what appear to be complicated styles, or who would have been originally lured by shaped carriers like a Baby Bjorn would make good target customers for this sling. It’ll be interesting to see if it repeats its US success over here.
