I’m a huge Brio fan, owning a number of their toys and I have plans to buy their Sleep Cotbed for ‘baby 2′, and now I see that they’re making a play for a spot in the fiercely competitive travel system market with their Brio ‘Go’ Travel System.

I love the distinctive style of Brio which is visible here with their trademark colour contrasts such as the black chassis with yellow seat, and there are other colour mixes such as red on grey chassis or black on white chassis. Ergonomically designed, it has a reclining seat, a footrest that can be adjusted to 3 positions, a hood that’s gradually adjustable and an adjustable handlebar that looks like it’s not going to give you RSI.

It’s manouevrable with it’s smaller swivel wheels at the front, you can keep the seat which faces either way on the chassis, and it has a simple ‘click-in system’ for switching between the pushchair seat, car seat, and carrycot.

Brio 'Go' Travel System folded down on side profileBut…I already knew by looking at it that this was one of the heavier travel systems and it does come in at 11kg (the chassis itself is 6kg). It has two hand fold which can of course be a bit stressful when you’re in a rush or are on your own with baby, and it doesn’t look like the type of pushchair that you buy when you’re tight on space.

Brio 'Go' Travel System with There are various accessories you can buy but interestingly you don’t get the raincover included in the RRP of £499.99 which does include car seat, carrycot, and the shopping basket plus hood.

It doesn’t seem to be widely on sale yet and the only place that I could find online that was allowing you to order for end of November delivery was Winstanleys Pram World for £450 but only for the yellow with the black chassis. It is, however, a really good deal because you’ll get a free bag, footmuff, parasol, and raincover so you’re seriously quids in on this deal. As soon as I find anywhere that sells any of the other colours, I shall update.

Ideal for: Fans of durable, Scandinavian design who aren’t concerned about weight or space.

Bang for your style buck: Good bang and I do love the black chassis which really pushes up the style notch. Not many colours but they do look great and they definitely look different. It is a shame that there aren’t more colours on sale online though…

Weight range: It is a little on the heavy side as there are lighter travel systems for this price.

Don’t forget that you can see other pushchairs and prams we’ve featured in our new feature The Pushchair Track.
