The Buggyboot

skitched-20080813-204916.jpgI watched Dragons’ Den on the V+ catch up two days late last night and had to quickly write about the Buggyboot, a pushchair step with a shopping bag attachment. Have these people been reading my mind? I HATE struggling with my shopping basket and often put everything in the pushchair basket instead, living in fear that I’ll be accused of tea leafing! Anyway…

The Buggyboot is the bag only version which is suited to lightweight strollers and the Buggyboot Plus, which is the one that includes the child’s step, is suited to lightweight strollers and some larger pushchairs (35-47cm widths between outsides of rear uprights) and they particularly specify that they will fit Maclaren, Mothercare, and Mamas and Papas pushchairs.

You can sit your shopping basket on top of the bag, the wheeled arms fold with the pushchair when it folds down, and it’s available in a range of colours.

The Buggyboot’s RRP will be £44.95 and the Buggyboot Plus will be £59.95. They’re not selling them yet but you can register your interest to be notified of stockists, who will also be able to advise if the Buggyboot is suitable for your pushchair.

Updated 14th July 2009 – The Buggyboot Plus is now £69.95 and is available from Mothercare. The Buggyboot will be on sale soon.

I think that this is a great concept because it solves a problem and makes being out and about with a pushchair and a load of shopping bags a hell of a lot easier. I look forward to seeing this in stores very soon. Oh and just in case you didn’t know, they did manage to secure the investment they were looking for from the scary Dragon’s Den. Kudos! Mind you…I guess they didn’t want to have another Trunki moment…
