The Bugaboo Bee

bugaboo beePart of the reason why I didn’t buy a Bugaboo was because I found them a bit awkward but if the description and the look of the Bugaboo Bee is anything to go by, I may be tempted into one.

I own my beloved Quiny Buzz but ever since I bought a lightweight stroller (The Mamas and Papas Nipi) for a recent holiday, I’ve become irritated at the need to have two pushchairs and the whole assembly mallarky of the Quinny. So I’m caught at a crossroads….

But as soon as I get a chance to roadtest the lightest and most compact Bugaboo available, I might sell both of my pushchairs and opt for the middle ground of the Bugaboo Bee.

It has 4 seating positions, bambino can face you or face out, my Maxi Cosi car seat can go on it, adjustable handle bar, fully reversible and extendable seat unit, weight of 7.7kg, and it’s suitable from birth amongst several other  features.

Available in blue, black, yellow, khaki, and red.

I really love the look of it too and whilst I fully recognise that function is very important, I am a woman that likes a stylish pushchair. They aren’t available until February 6th at Mothercare but you can preorder. So far it looks like everyone is selling them for £359 but it will be interesting to see what offers there will be once they go on sale. Of course you’ll get jacked for any additional accessories but it does come with a sun canopy, underseat shopping basket, and raincover.

John Lewis on Tottenham Court Road, has the Bugaboo Bee on demo.

After looking around at other pushchairs, strollers, buggies etc, the Bee is definately a winner for me.

We use public transport in London and I’ve seen so many people struggle with their buggies. Judging by the compactness of the Bee, this shouldn’t be a problem.

We’re getting one for our baby due in April… Seen good and bad reviews for the Bee. But then again, there are good and bad reviews for every product. It’s really about what works for you. And the Bugaboo works for us in London.

Thanks for your comment Tony. I will hopefully be in that John Lewis in the next few days. It sounds like you’re buying it for much of the same reasons that I am so I look forward to trying it out :-)
