The Biodegradable BecoPotty

BecoPotty

Potty’s aren’t the most exciting of things although Boon’s Potty Bench, our current design led favourite, made us sit up and pay attention. For a traditionally styled potty with excellent eco and sustainability credentials, look no further than the biodegradable BecoPotty.

Brit company Becothings have recognised that most potty’s end up at landfill and have come up with this sustainable design that has absolutely minimal impact. Ergonomically designed to ensure comfort and support, it’s got a high back with a large splash guard for hygiene. Made from bamboo waste and rice husks leftover from farming, the plant fibres are ground down, mixed with biodegradable resin and pressed into a hot mould to make the Becopotty. Once the potty days are over, drill a couple of holes in the bottom of the potty to let moisture through, fully submerge it in the soil, and then plant seeds on top, and it will biodegrade and feed your plants. Maybe you could have a ceremony and do a little jig around it to mark the end of the potty days…

€13.50 at Shak Shuka. You can also buy them at Bebeco for £7.99 plus delivery, and they’re also in select John Lewis and Green Baby stores along with their cardboard hangers.
