The Bambino’s First Birthday Presents: Part Two

Submitted by NML on Tuesday, 3 June 2008No Comment

Natalie writes…

So yesterday I unveiled the Lula Sapphire selection of gifts and today’s (remaining) gifts were purchased by me on behalf of her gran. Ooh, I think I just found a new excuse for purchases - “Your mum wanted me to get her something…..”. Sure, he’ll have forgotten by the time she’s back in the UK….

Anyway…

BRIO Toddler Wobbler BlackBrio Toddler Wobbler

My ma insisted that the bambino had a wooden baby walker which doesn’t explain how the bambino ended up with a white gold chain with a little diamond (the bambino is in danger of becoming BA Baracus…) This is one of my favourite baby toys - Unbelievably stylish in understated black, it takes a traditional looking toy to a whole new level in the unmistakable Brio look.

We got it from Amazon where it’s £24.99 (The RRP is at least £40)

BRIO 50 assorted blocks

BRIO 50 Assorted Building Blocks

The bambino loves these even though she can’t build anything more than about 3 or 4 blocks high before she knocks them over. When the Toddler Wobbler arrives tomorrow, these will be going in there!

You can also get these at our Amazon store for £9.99 (The RRP is around £20)

What did she wear?

Well there was a bit of a fiasco as her party dress, the “Tweet” Red Pinafore Dress which is also reversible by Ashley Starnes, a US designer…was too small. The bambino is clearly a big ‘un as this 12-18 months dress looked like a too tight waistcoat. £18.50 from the fabulous Little Baby Company.

So we tried plan B which was a handmade dress from South Africa and that wouldn’t even go over her head….

So in the end, we went to Plan C where she wore a very funktastic My Little Pony t-shirt from H&M and a velvet puffy skirt with a couple of layers of lining. Pics will follow when the boyf and I stop arguing about the whereabouts of the camera cable…
