10 best: buys from museum shops
September 16, 2011 by Lucy · 3 Comments
Museums have come a long way in recent years. Gone are the days of the provision for children being limited to a photocopied worksheet – today’s institutions have all-singing, all-dancing interactive exhibits and activities galore. Look out for Myf’s upcoming post on Eureka! – it sounds amazing. Clearly launched as a bid to augment [...]
10 Best: ideas for a robot-themed room
August 12, 2011 by Lucy · 7 Comments
In the 50s, pretty much everyone believed that robots would be commonplace in every home by the year 2000, and I have to admit, having grown up with Tomorrow’s World in the 80s, I kinda hoped it would be true, too. Sadly, with maybe the exception of Japan, our world is lacking in automated help, but [...]
Little Scout – shop for boys
I must admit to being slightly baffled by the concept behind new online shop Little Scout, which only stocks ‘toys for boys’ – think robots, planes and pirates. To me, this seems like a bit of an outdated idea – many little girls I know enjoy playing with trains and cars as much as my [...]
Solar Night Lights by Clifford Richards
September 1, 2010 by Natalie · Leave a Comment
Longtime readers will know I’m mega partial to pop art designer Clifford Richards whose work is on display at the V&A and he’s also got a great range of toys and accessories. He’s also the person behind these solar powered night lights made from mostly recycled and also recyclable powder coated steel. There’s an elephant, [...]
Clifford Richards Robot Mugs & Egg Cups
I’m a big fan of pop art icon Clifford Richards who is famous for designing the identity and packaging for Paperchase when it launched, as well as his cool kids pieces for the V&A (where his collection is housed) such as his fairy wings, beakers (we own two that the girls fight over), as well [...]

Get ready for take off with this extra large poster full of switches and gauges by renowned graphic and paper products designer Clifford Richards whose Pop Art inspired graphics were part of the launch of Paperchase back in the 1960s and have also seen a huge resurgence in recent years due to the V&A buying [...]
Clifford Richards Beaker and Straw

I’m clearly going through a bit of cup mania at the moment as I just featured the fab Litecup and now I’m going gaga over these super cool beakers from the Victoria & Albert (V&A) Museum of Childhood Shop. Once again I’d definitely have one of these for myself to sip out whilst I work! [...]
Clifford Richards Fairy Wings
May 12, 2008 by Natalie · Leave a Comment
Designed by Clifford Richards (that’s his name – it’s not Cliff Richards trying to vaguely disguise himself as an artiste…), a graphic designer that’s done a lot of Pop Art inspired work (including the identity and packaging for Paperchase when it first opened), these are possibly the coolest fairy wings I’ve ever seen. Made from foam, these make a great change from your typical fairy wings in baby pink or white with netting and sequins.
