These Kumpel Dolls come from the Comma Universe - yes the maker has a bit of a fascination with commas. Ei Kumpel is a UK designer based between the UK and Portugal and she does lots of beautiful felt brooches as well as these soft toys.
The Shadow Cat
And for those of you who aren’t into felines, I think Tommy Target has got a gorgeous face - I love his button nose and his sideways mouth. The prices at The Shadow Cat are in US dollars and prices start at around £5.50 for a print (yes she does those too) up to around £20.
Rice
I’m really liking Rice, a Danish company that is described by their stockists, Cloudberry Living, as “Alice in Wonderland meets hip granny - meets bohemian chic…” I can certainly see what they mean with the Happy Hippo which is available in three different flower prints.

The designers daughter even helps her stuff the toys and then they they do a “loveable test” which involves squeezing and cuddling them to ensure that they’re loveable…. I would tell you to stock up with the fab exchange rate direct with the seller at Etsy, but she only ships to the US…

This has to be one of the coolest ride on toys I’ve come across. Looking like a classic model plane but big enough for your toddler to take a breezy little ride on, the Monoplane Trike has rubber wheels and a little padded seat, plus a swivel wheel for manouvering and a smooth ride.

These hand knitted egg and soldiers and little ice cream cones from Jelly and Blancmange look good enough to eat and will look great when you set up a little tea party or are placed in their little pretend play kitchen. I’ll be honest; I really shouldn’t like these because they’re made from velvet which gives me the heebee jeebies…… Who says you have to give a brown teddy bear as a soft toy gift to a newborn when you can give them a super bright Ornamental Musical Elephant that plays a soothing lullaby?

On the back of the flash cards are ‘Teaching Tips’ which give a few bullet points of different things that you can tell your baby about the animal. Even though she has no clue what I mean when I explain about what the animal does, she clearly has her favourites who she shrieks with delight at when she sees.
