The Super Star Stamp Necklace

super star stamp necklace by Sarah NeuburgerAs soon as I clapped eyes on these Super Star Stamp Necklaces which featured a wooden peg figure clad in vintage inspired fabric with a stamp on the end, I had it marked as a future cool gift.

My girls love peg figures, so much so that tracking down the figures around the house from the Habitat red wooden bus is actually on my list of chores… Anyway, I digress.

Hand made in the US by indie designer Sarah Neuburger (she does these figures as wedding toppers and wine bottle stoppers). With cute hand painted faces and a hemp cord for the chain, they’re quirky, cool, and wonderfully cute. Each comes with a stamp pad and is packaged in a drawstring muslin bag. Could this be one of those items you’d almost nick from your child and put on yourself? £24 from cool eco design haunt, e-side.

While you’re there, also check out Tell me a story set the Tell Me A Story set, also by Sarah. Designed in conjunction with a primary school teacher, roll the dice which feature people, objects and settings, and then create a story based on the images.

It features three wooden story telling dice, a Match + Write pad where younger children can match the image with what’s on the pad and circle it, or older children can write their story on the bottom half of the page. There’s also an index sheet with a glossary and handy word speller.

A wonderful way of engaging the imagination, developing storytelling and improving writing skills, it’s the type of buy that parents can enjoy with their child. £33
