pramkittens I’m still very new to Etsy, but fell in love immediately with these pram kittens from Dotty Monkey.

I think it was the playful description which sold me, describing how pram kittens are, ‘Plush plump playful kittens for cuddling or throwing out of the pram’. I immediately envisaged these little patchwork creatures sailing through the air, probably thrown by a small plump arm out of an old-fashioned Mary Poppins style Victorian pram.

pramkittens2The pram kittens themselves have hand-stitched, unique faces, which make them appear rather dispassionate about their future life of flying through the air towards the ground. Fashioned from a glorious mix of different material and patterns including Liberty fabrics, they have cute little ‘tag’ style paws with different textures, perfect for babies to fiddle with and, er, chew.

Dotty Monkey is run by Emily Harding (artist, illustrator, and mum of two) and her mum. They describe themselves with appealing whimsy as making soft toys and accessories for ‘babies, children and anyone who never grew up’.

You can buy these little critters from Etsy, and with postage they come in at $13.00. All Etsy prices are listed in dollars, but you can contact Dotty Monkey and they’ll send you a paypal invoice so you can pay in pounds instead.
