Longtime readers will know I’m mega partial to pop art designer Clifford Richards whose work is on display at the V&A and he’s also got a great range of toys and accessories. He’s also the person behind these solar powered night lights made from mostly recycled and also recyclable powder coated steel. There’s an elephant, his trademark robot, a bear and a rhino. Put the accompanying solar panel in a sunny window for the day and then plug in the light to recharge the LED battery. £25.99 Nigel’s Eco Store. This is the type of ‘kids’ lighting I love – not tied to an age so these are definitely designed to last.
