Six of the best animal cushions

April 29, 2010 by · 1 Comment

My love of (OK, unhealthy obsession with) cushions is well-documented on BG and, inspired by my recent revisit to Zid Zid Kids, I’ve been hunting out the most fabulous  soft furnishing fauna on the web and, my, was it a tough job narrowing it down to six. First up, My Dear Darling’s fab monkey pillow, $38 (plus $18 p&p) is made from super-soft fleece and can be personalised on the back. If you’re not into all things simian,  you can choose from cute-as-anything red panda, penguin or owl designs.

Also on Etsy is Melbourne-based Twiglet Workshop’s wonderfully retro look Sleepy-Smiley Lion, $39.95 (plus $10 p&p) which can be custom made in your chosen colourway.

Bomb Design’s Bunny Pillow, £42, is guaranteed to become a child’s bestest friend. Tactile, fluffy and generally scrumptious with a quirky bell in the head part, it also has a practical removable cover.

If you want to go large, try Beasty Bags’ Elephant Floor Cushion over on Not On The High Street. Yes, it is £150 but you can fit a couple of kids on it!

For those on the lookout for something out of the ordinary may I present to you Needles and Buttons’ colourfully homespun patchwork snail cushion, £40, which I found over on Folksy.

Finally, because no BG round-up would be complete without a bird, I give you this delightful Oyster Catcher cushion, €60 (plus €5 p&p), from the wonderfully named Crowing Hens and Whistling Women’s DaWanda store.
