Say hello to the new Bambino Goodies

It’s been a busy weekend here at chez BG where somehow through my befuddled pregnancy brain, I have updated BG with a new look. But why? some of you may squeal! Necessity created by conflicts with previous theme and essential plugins (tech babble) and also for reader experience. Please note there are some important changes regarding competitions and the email newsletter which are listed at the bottom of this post.

The site is really user friendly. We still have the featured post option plus the Toys category is currently rotating rather snazzily to the left of this.

Instead of having dropdowns for all of the rather busy categories, you can access categories via the colour panel or to get a more in depth view, you can look at all categories including subcategories via the dropdown menu at the top of the right hand sidebar.

Recent posts with excerpts are displayed down the front page including a big space for the most recent.

Popular tags are in the sidebar (I’m waiting on a fix for tags to appear in posts).

There is a brilliant random posts area at the bottom of the page which randomly displays around 12 images from posts for you to click on on. You can refresh it too.

Important changes to competitions and email newsletters:

As of 7th November 2008, BG competitions are members only. This means you need to be on the daily update of posts email list or on the email newsletter list. This is to ensure that competitions are in the spirit that they were intended – to reward loyal readers who support the site.

The email newsletter which featured competitions, discounts, news etc is now on a monthly basis and will go out on the first Friday of the month.

You can no longer enter competitions and put ‘no mailout’.

If you are entering a competition pre 7th November then there is still the ‘no mailout’ option but this ends this coming Friday.

You can sign up for the daily update of posts and the email newsletter at the top of the sidebar where you can also see the current list of competitions.
