K2 Kuster HighchairEstelle writes…I found choosing a highchair nearly as difficult as choosing a pram. There’s a great deal to consider, from the space saving implications to the suitability of the design to complement your decor.

There’s no doubt the K2 Küster highchair is extremely easy on the eye. It’s minimalistic clean lines are at home in a traditional or contemporary setting, and it has all the features you would expect from a quality brand.

It’s ergonomically designed with a simple folding system, removable tray and tray cover, self levelling feet, adjustable 5 point harness, and a useful storage basket. The tray can also be removed completely so your child can sit right up to the table to join in the meal with the rest of the family. Suitable to use from 6 months, right up until about 6 years, it’s a sensible buy for the long term.

In use: The highchair arrived just before Christmas, so I decided to give it a real test and assemble it for use on the big day. There’s minimal assembly required as the leg and seat section come as one piece, and you only need to attach the seat-back to the main section. It was relatively easy to do (even after a glass of bucks fizz!), although I did need an extra pair of hands to hold everything together whilst I used the special tool provided to tighten the screws.

Safely installed at the head of the Christmas table, my little chap was in his element and sat comfortably holding court throughout the majority of the meal. The easily adjustable tray proved very useful as it is cleverly designed to provide a ’shield’ to stop food which has fallen down the diner’s front from ending up on the floor. At the end of the meal the tray cover just went straight into the dishwasher. The rest of the chair was easily cleaned, with no nasty spots for food to hide, and the cushion and harness can be put in the washing machine.

Any negatives?: None.

Value for money: For such a beautifully designed highchair it’s RRP of £99 represents excellent value for money.

Overall: This is a very smart looking highchair giving a contemporary look whilst ticking all the practical boxes. Ideal if you’re looking for a folding highchair for space saving purposes, but even if you’re not, I still think it would still be a strong contender.

Verdict: 5/5

I bought the K2 about 3 weeks ago and I am so pleased that I went for it. I love the looks and the fact that it is slimline when folded up. My little boy is just 6 months old but is already sitting up in it really comfortably.

    Definitely recommended.
