The shopping guide for baby clothing, toys, products, furniture, gear etc

NML/Natalie Editor

NML & the BambinoHi, I’m Natalie also more commonly known as ‘NML’ and I’m the founder of Bambino Goodies and its sister blog Budget Bambino Goodies. I started blogging 4 years ago after going on a bad date, and after sharing my antics about love, life, and my crazy colleagues and family, I put my experiences to good use and started a dating and relationship blog, Baggage Reclaim. I got ‘up the duff’ in September 2006 and by the time I was getting ready to pop, inspired by everyone praising my shopping skills and eye for unusual baby products, Bambino Goodies was born on May 5th 2007.

Since then, I’ve had the bambino who was born 31st May 2007, been on maternity leave, returned to work for 4 days in January 08, and then left the chaos to become a ‘mumpreneur’ as my buddy at Arabella Miller calls it! I now write and publish my blogs for a living, juggling the wondrous world of baby products with essentially being a dating coach/’expert’, PLUS I also freelance as a sales and marketing consultant. I am busy!

I live with the boyf and the bambino on the edge of London in Surrey where we can actually see trees, fields, and even hills.

Favourite website for shopping: Jaysus! This is a tough call. It depends on what it’s for. Lula Sapphire for the bambino’s gifts (love the store, the range, and even the staff!), John Lewis for practicals, and Amazon…well because I have a secret addiction to ordering from them (I buy something at least once a week and it’s become my Borders on Oxford Street replacement).

Favourite offline store: Another tough call. Selfridges for handbags and shoes, Gap for my basics (only sale though as the factory workers get the same wage but Gap don’t get the same profits), Borders on Oxford Street (can’t pass it without spending money), and the boyf and I have taken to doing the bulk of our clothes shopping in the US… We can wear a lot of designer without the guilt! Oh and of course, my grand love affair, Zara Home.

Baby product I couldn’t survive without: Beaba Babycook and Blender. Brilliant for cooking healthy, organic meals. Makes me feel like I’m supermum ;-)

Pregnancy product I couldn’t survive without: Crocs. Not the most attractive things but they were literally my saviour! I was signed off with a bad back and these shoes allowed me to walk again. I bow at the alter of Crocs! It was literally like being at one of those sermons with snakes when I put them on for the first time - “I can WALK!”

Any product that makes motherhood easier: My Black and Decker dustbuster. Seriously. Great for quickly whipping up the monstrous amount of crumbs generated by the bambino every day. Ok and cleaning up after the boyf. OK and me. Would you believe we brought it so that the boyf could clean the car, and I have seen him use it ONCE out there?

Most treasured possessions: Well it’s a given that our keepsakes and photos are the most treasured, but never one to conform, my Macbook, ipod, Blackberry, and my leather, purple, laptop bag from Barney’s. Oh and my books and handbags. Oh and the Wii. Hell, I treasure everything ;-)

Best excuse to my partner for buying something: Your mum gave us money for it/It was on sale!/Don’t you remember when I brought this last year?

Favourite TV Show: Ooh, decisions! Well of course I like more than one! I still watch Sex and the City reruns, plus I love Peep Show, Brothers and Sisters, Come Dine With Me, and 24.

Any guilty pleasures: Using the Wii Fitness whilst working, Waitrose 4 packs of eclairs, M&S homemade cookies, shoes, handbags, (not really that guilty about those) and Loose Women and Cheaters. Oh…and I watch Hollyoaks both on C4, and then E4 most days…
