Natalie writes…

The bambino loves dolls. I’m assuming she discovered them at the childminder and her playgroups because we didn’t have any here till I got her a cheap and cheerful one from Woolies. She is obsessed with it but gets very angry if I attempt to be nice to it without her say so… 15 month olds these days…

So of course, I am on the lookout for some ‘proper’ dolls, more in line with my tastes and not so…plastic and after coming across these Moulin Roty dolls at Treehouse Blue, I realise it’s time to hustle one of the grandparents, or put this on her Christmas list. Dolls are far more expensive than back in the 80s!

The dolls pictured are Rosalie, Suzanne, and the rather dubiously named ‘Ting Ting’…each one representing some of our multicultural society. We’re huge fans of French toymaker Moulin Roty who also do a fine line in doll prams, ride-on toys, and pretend play cookers amongst their many delights, and I have to admit that I do quite like these quirky, soft, jointed dolls in their vibrant French outfits which are fully removable. I’m loving the use of layers, chic scarves, and cute sandles although Ting Ting should have told Moulin Roty that it’s a sin to where white socks with anything other than trainers…

They’re pretty big at 50cm in height, they come nicely packaged, and fit into the Moulin Roty wooden pushchairs and prams.

At £48.50 from Tree House Blue, whilst not being anywhere near as expensive as some dolls can be, they are certainly not for those on a tight budget. But in my quest to hunt down dolls, I shall undoubtedly be featuring more in a variety of price ranges. But I must say, me likey these Moulin Roty dolls!
