Molly n’ Jack: Autumn/Winter collection launched!

I have been stalking the MiniMode site as I eagerly anticipated that Boots’ (yes the chemist) delectable clothing range for kids, Molly n’ Jack would be bringing in their new stock. I actually forgot to look yesterday and checked this morning and the salivating a-plenty began!
The new collection is awash with charming prints, whimsical, traditional looks that scream vintage but are far from vintage priced, with tweed vibes, chunky knits, fantastic detail and nuances (as always), and a bit of puff and oomph in the trousers and skirts. As always, it is very heavily weighted towards girls and I suspect that we haven’t seen all of the collection yet as I don’t see any coats yet and surely there must be some more boy gear?
I adore their Red Knitted Dress £16 which is in what I as the non-knitter would call a ‘granny knit’ with a ribbed round neck, sleeves, and waist detail. It’s got a hint of medieval in it which I have seen in a number of children’s clothing collections recently. The longer length makes it oh so chic and little lady like and it will certainly take your bambino (and mine) from autumn through to winter.
This flat cap for the boys (but just as suitable for girls – just ask Guy Richie and Madonna) is great for some quintessential British style. Clearly they won’t be going hunting (thankfully) but this cap, on a boy, will add a dapper vibe to his look (team with cords, tailored trousers, or a nice slim fit shirt) and on a girl will give her a bit of a tomboy street (but not gangsta) vibe. A steal at £6.
The bambino however will be getting one of these jaunty Red Bobble Beret Hats which are in a fab chunky knit and perfect for autumnal days. I’ll probably get her one size up though due to her big ‘fro… Another steal at £6. It also comes in a surprisingly cute baby pink (yes I know I normally hate baby pink) version which is very Twiggy-esque.
Their Brown Puff Trousers which also come in slate grey , steer well clear of tomboy and have a slightly cinched, stretchy waist band, tapered legs, a striped details on the pocket. They are also lined with a pink flower lining and look very snuggly. £14
This delectable poppy print is featured on both this stunning blouse £10, and a jersey dress, £16. The Poppy Print Button Up Top aside from having the stunning print, has got lovely, subtle button detail to the right and delicate, pleats. I want an adult version!
As always they have their tank top staple for the boys which no doubt would look great with the flat cap. Featuring rich, warm colours that will fit in just right with the season, it’s very trendy yet traditional. £10
There was so much to love, I could be writing for ages, so until I do another post, hotfoot it to Molly n’ Jack now! As high street fashion for children goes, I think Molly n’ Jack are right up there at the top, demonstrating that you can get a lot of style bang for your increasingly credit crunched buck.
