Manhattan Toys Skwish

July 15, 2010 by · 1 Comment

When Monty was born last year he was given a Skwish by a friend of our who proclaimed it the best designed toy he had come across. Strong stuff but I’m inclined to think he wasn’t far off the mark.

The Skwish is a series of six wooden sticks in parallel pairs held together with elastic bungee. Each pole has fixed wooden balls on the end and round beads which move up and down. The size of the poles and bungee make it easily graspable for tiny hands and the gentle sound it makes as it is waved around is pleasant to listen to. As your baby grows they will be able to ‘skwish’ the structure, throw it around and chase it. As a gift for a new baby which will grow with them and entertain them through their first year it is pretty near perfect.

It is available in three colours: Skwish Classic, Skwish Natural and Skwish Colour Burst all available at Amazon.

I agree these are fantastic. We had the classic – it was the only one available when DS was a baby! Great for stuffing into the small bag that I used.
