When you’re looking for a cot for your new arrival you could be forgiven for feeling faint. The prices can be astronomical especially when you consider that there will be a toddler bed to buy in a couple of years. This cotbed from Mamas and Papas is my hot tip for a budget bed which will last your baby for years to come.
The Lucia is made from naturally finished solid hardwood. It has a simple outline without any fuss that should fit neatly into any nursery scheme. The base has three height positions which you move lower as your baby grows. It comes with teething rails (just in case your baby wants to gnaw wood once they sprout teeth) and a toddler bed foot to transform the cot into a bed. The whole thing measures 77 cm wide by 144 cm long and is 99 cm tall. It takes a Mamas and Papas size 400 mattress which you would have to buy separately for £140.
