Make Your Own: Fitted Cot Sheets

March 30, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

Amanda of Kitschy Coo is a crafting and designing wizard. She designs and makes children’s clothing (more of that in an up coming post) and sells superb patterns so that you can make your own children’s clothing. I recently tested one of her new patterns and can tell you they sew up like a dream. Not only is she a sewing genius she also writes the most hilarious blog. Which is where I saw this brilliant tutorial for sewing your own sheets. By now regular readers will know I am always on the lookout for funky sheets for cots and children’s beds and what better way to get what you want but make it?

Amanda has created a very simple tutorial which shows you how to create a sheet with elasticated corners or elasticated casing. The idea of making a bed sheet made my head spin until I read the tutorial and realised it is actually so simple you could knock up a few in an evening. Sounds like it’s time for some fabric shopping…
