Lotta Jansdotter’s Simple Sewing for Baby Available for Pre-order
Last week over on Nest Goodies, I was raving about Lotta Jansdotter’s Simple Sewing which has cemented my rediscovered obsession with sewing, and last week I pre-ordered her May release, ‘Simple Sewing for Baby: 24 Easy Projects for Newborns to Toddlers’.
For those unfamiliar with Lotta, she’s a Scandinavian self-taught designer with a huge following that love her line of home accessories. She has translated her self-taught ways into her really popular ‘Simple Sewing’ book which has 25 brilliant projects that I am just dying to make my way through – I am on a mega cushion project that has transformed our sitting room although it makes me think I want a new sofa…
Anyway…
I cannot wait to get her latest book which is due out on 1st May. Think practical projects like bibs, changing bags, tag blankets, hats etc. Just like with ‘Simple Sewing’ the full sized patterns are at the front in a pocket, plus with this book, there are stencils in the back. So simple and no traipsing to the local photocopiers to blow up patterns. Only thing is it’s all yards and inches so I always have the converter handy on my laptop.
Simple Sewing for Baby: 24 Easy Projects for Newborns to Toddlers‘ is £10.49 currently on Amazon (you can get it via our BG Amazon Store).
You can also get Simple Sewing, also £10.49, and I’m also waiting on a copy of her book How to Print with Anything, from Potatoes to Linoleum…
In the meantime, if you’ve been getting handy with your sewing machine and want to show and tell, do drop us a line at features AT bambinogoodies.co.uk!

I’ve recently purchased from Clothkits which has really spurred me on to get booked onto a sewing course. Will send you a pic in when I’ve finally achieved it! Can anyone recommend a sewing machine (I have no clue) – or is this something I can find on Nest Goodies maybe?
Ooh definitely send it in when done. The bf got mine from trusty John Lewis (they also let you go in for lesson on the machine which is brill plus you can pester them with questions). I think I own an Elna 2600 and it’s brilliant
