Label Love: Jessie & James
Although the principally navy, red, grey and white palette is a bit more sombre than we usually go for here at BG, there’s something about Jessie & James.
It could be the playful cuts of the pieces – some clearly influenced by the designers’ background working for Vivienne Westwood (check out the Squiggle dress, £60, top) or the touches of quirk – loving the Farina ‘skorts’, £36, above, and Kiss Me asymmetric cape, £60, below – that give the label a quintessentially British feel that’s hard to resist.
Indeed, every item in the 23-strong collection is produced in the UK. Sizes range from 3 months to 3 year, a large percentage of the clothing is unisex and the silhouettes are timeless, so perfect as heirloom pieces.
