I reckon if we owned these sets of Kellner Plug-In figures, I’d probably enjoy playing with them myself. Invented way-back-when in the 1920s by Georg Kellner, a founder of a very successful model plane company at the time, these kits feature interchangeable parts that combine to make posable figures. The solid wood pieces which are hand painted with water based paint connect with the flexible “jummi” rubber connectors. There are five kits to choose from; Tim and The Merry Bachelors pictured, as well as Squeek the mouse, Edward and Erna, and Hoppy Hare. £19-£35 at Thorsten van Elten.
