Routine! Routine! I didn't really understand anything about routines before I had children having never had one myself unless you count regular trips to the petrol station late at night for Rizla and choc. biscuits a routine, but now I am also a routine Nazi.
In the USA they tend to believe in them less, thinking it will hamper their precious spawn's developmental development and as result there are many 3 year olds who stay up until 11pm, crazed with exhaustion and hopped up on sugar while their mothers weep and ask me how I keep order in my house.
Uh, routine?

I have to completely agree with you there. I (only) have twins but could never have survived without a fairly strict routine ! Just having that break in the afternoon, when they both have a nap saves me from going insane AND allows me to do some work, so I don't have to be up all night trying to do it. Gina was by my side from day one.
However, I do find that I am a bit more relaxed about their routine now when they are 15 months.... a bit more relaxed, but never routine-less.
