French Blossom
Ooh la la! French Blossom Gallic emporium for children stocks exclusively French designs and, quite frankly, is chic, chic, chic. In the toy section you’ll recognise familiar names such as Vilac, Janod, Baghera and Trousselier, while the home and design department has Mimi’Lou, Poisson Bulle and Bakker Made With Love.
But it’s the less well-known labels that I’m loving. How adorable are these star-stamped leather baby booties by Barnabé Aime Le Café, above? They are €41 per pair for a range of colours and form part of a collection of accessories and decorative items created by Anne Giniaux – ace baby gift. Unfortunately there’s scant offering for ‘les garcons’, although I’m rather partial to the Papi Luc pom-pom hats), but ‘les filles’ are spoiled for choice.
Les Simones has a divine selection of dresses (my favourite is this black star print frock, €49, above, exclusive to the site) while LouLouEskimo offers pretty separates – loving the polka-dot tutu – as does Merveilles – acid yellow tee anyone?
In terms of decor, there’s an overload of cuteness, from Rose Miniscule’s mobiles (this one is €39.50) to Zü’s vintage print sleepy cloud and fawn pillows.
My other pick is the OMY Design & Play three-metre long colouring sheet, €34, above – fabulous as a party tablecloth. And, finally, I couldn’t not mention the ever-amazing doll creations of My Name is Simone. Regrettably, the Alber Elbaz and Karl Lagerfeld dolls are sold out, but you can get your hands on a Major B (top) for just €24. Shipping is a flat rate of €12 to EU destinations. Faites de bonnes emplettes! (Happy shopping!)
