Ooh, there are some lovely goodies over at Carousel. It’s a great place to browse if you’re looking for party inspiration – you’ll find striped and spotty paper party bags (including some rather funky kraft ones) and everything you could possibly need to fill them, from unusual sweets and pocket money toys to fake tattoos.
The decorations are divine – how fab is this Lamali dinosaur garland, below, £8.50? – and I’ve already earmarked the star straws for Alfie’s space-themed party (more of that next month). Fancy dress comes courtesy of super-cool French brand Mouche – I’m head over heels for the sparkly top hats, above, £22.
It’s not all about the party though, there are fabulous toys from the likes of Kiko, OMY and GG*, plus books from Thames & Hudson. The Jeu du Tigre, £8.50, top, would make a great gift. I do have a teensy problem with the ‘For Boys’ and ‘For Girls’ catergorisation, but at least there’s also a unisex ‘For Boys and Girls’ section as well. Other than that, I’m pretty much in love with everything about Carousel.
