African prints are hot hot hot at the moment and the creations of Kambakids embrace the vibrancy and rhythm of Africa. Kambakids is designed by Barcelona based couple Moumouni Manaconou and Imma Padilla and produced in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Once the designs are ready, the family head down to Ouagadougou (I love saying this word) to work with their factory where they ensure the quality of both the garments and the working conditions of the people who create them.

The clothes are designed for children aged 0 – 4. The 2009 collection has both geometric and organic prints. I’m loving the peacock tail print dress (top centre)actually I’m loving them all – fab-o-rama! The collection includes; dresses, skirts, bloomers, one-pieces, tops, trousers and shirts. The clothes are cut with the simple, clean lines which are so versatile for pre-schoolers. These clothes will wear well for both play time and smart events.

Unfortunately for us except for one Dutch store, they aren’t stocked outside of Spain. Check out the stockist list at Kambakids if you’re heading out to Spain. There is one online stockist: bad news is they only have a few pieces left, good news is they’re on sale! Head over to Nenetes to check them out, postage is around 9 Euros.
