Home Birth Week on Mama to Be Goodies

Over at Kat’s site Mama to Be Goodies, she’s spending the week talking about the home birth experience and associated products, will be sharing a home birth story, and even has a La Bassine birthing pool kit worth £104.95.
I’m not the home birthing sort myself. After 36 hours in labour and more drugs than a crack fiend on a super high the last time round, followed by an emergency c-section, tempting as it could be to try to control the experience at home, I’m not ready to venture into that territory. That and the fact that the boyf blanched at the idea when I casually dropped it into conversation and I’d be afraid of the pool coming through our floors as we live in an old Victorian house.
But…I have had several ‘graphic’ accounts from friends who have had the experience and for the most part, they thoroughly enjoyed theirs, so this week is as good a time as any for me to get an ‘education’.
