Happy 3rd Birthday Milla

June 10, 2010 by · 5 Comments

What is it about our eldest child’s birthday that gets us all nostalgic and puts a lump in our throats? Milla has just turned three and my gosh she is suddenly a little girl with only the merest hint of my baby. It panics me slightly that this time next year she will be getting ready to begin school! We were lucky enough to be given tickets for Longleat where we had a jam packed day out topped off by the ‘big round chocolate cake’ which had been requested quite specifically.

I always seem to be crafting into the wee hours the night before a birthday, making things which could have been done in advance but wind up being left until the last possible moment. This year we were working on a birthday dress. We used the Mango Dress pattern from ManiMina which although not the easiest pattern to follow we managed to create a beautiful dress in just a couple of hours. The fabric is a medium weight organic cotton by Could9 which I got from Saints & Pinners. Perfect for parties and sunny afternoons on the beach alike.

Happy Birthday Milla. Love the outfit. We are pregnant at the moment and if its a girl are going to call her Milla. Just wondering if you used Milla on its own or as a shortened version for another name? Thanks!
