Faye & Lou Rainbow Muslins

Faye and Lou Rainbow Muslins

I am soooo excited to announce that I’m expecting our second child, a sibling for Lola, in the summer. Now we’re through that exhausting first trimester and had the all important first scan (check out what is, in my biased view, the best scan picture ever), it’s all about finding fabulous things for our new arrival.

Like Kat and Lu before me, I of course have a fantasy shopping list to share with you later, but, for now, I’ve been thinking about what we actually need. Muslins are a definite. I used them for just about everything with Lola, as swaddles, changing mats, breastfeeding cover-ups and even an emergency outfit in Ikea when we had a leak! This pack of rainbow muslins from Faye & Lou immediately caught my eye. They are 100% cotton and each pack contains seven 60 x 60cm muslins in eye-catching colours. Buy direct from Faye & Lou for £28.95 with free shipping, or on the high street from John Lewis.

They are lovely at first, but they shrink loads in the tumble dryer, and the colours fade really quickly. I also found that the purple and red ones are not as soft as the other colours – I have two packs and it’s the same for both. Have to admit, although lovely to have something different from the norm, I was really disappointed with the quality and they are not good enough for the price.

I have these muslins as well and I’ve found them to retain their colour, although I agree they’re not the softest. I only use them for clean ups (and occasionally pirate bandanas), so that’s not really an issue – I always use super-soft Aden & Anais bamboo muslins for blankets, sheets etc. I also got mine half price in a flash sale, so found them quite good value as an alternative to impractical white or predictable pastels.

I have had my Rainbow Muslins for over a year now, I just love them, mine are super soft and still very bright. My little girl now uses them as a comforter, she loves the label. I now buy all my friends who are expecting a pack of Rainbow or Cozio’s.

I have loads of these, I have twins and bought 3 packs at the Baby Show. My girls love them, and I am never without at least 2 or 3 of my muslins. I use them for everything, especially as my two are very snotty and dribble continuously. I have washed them loads and they are still bright and very soft. Definitely worth the extra money as they don’t look all grubby an stained. The quality is better than most muslins and they are really good at soaking up water, drool, dribble, sick and anything else.
