My life post children has been filled with Things I Would Have Pooh Poohed pre kids and I’ve discovered that I’m over my dislike of home ec at the convent and thoroughly enjoy baking (and eating) bread. I’m getting a Doodle Bread baking kit in my stocking so that the bambino and I can have fun kneading and adding a whole new starry dimension to our loaves.
A simple, cool idea, the kit comes with a silicone loaf shaped baking tin, and a doodle (the star) which sits over the lips of the tin, a squisher for getting your dough in place, plus Big Doodle mix for the main part of the bread and Little Doodle Mix to fill the doodle to get you started.
If you get the set with red Little Doodle Mix for instance, it’s got beetroot in it or green has got spinach, so you can even sneak some veggies in to your unsuspecting toddler who will no doubt think you’re the height of cool for putting a ‘doodle’ in their bread. It comes with recipe ideas too and they also put new recipes on their blog too with me feeling a tad droolsome at the thought of yumo choco and vanilla star loaf. £16.50 each
